Eberhard-Gerstel Award 2024 open for outstanding Achievements in Analytical Chemistry
The Separation Science Working Group of the GDCh Analytical Chemistry Division is pleased to announce the call for submissions for the prestigious Eberhard-Gerstel Award 2024. Since 2010, this award has been recognizing outstanding scientific publications in the field of analytical separation techniques.
The Eberhard-Gerstel Award is presented every two years to promising young scientists. The selection is made by an internationally composed jury, with criteria including originality, scientific significance, methodological innovation, and the independence of the work.
The GERSTEL GmbH & Co. KG, a worldwide leader in systems and solutions for automated sample preparation, sponsors the prize money of 2000 euros. The award ceremony takes place during the analytica conference, scheduled for April 9-11, 2024, in Munich.
Objectives and Focus Areas
The award acknowledges exceptional scientific work in the field of analytical separation techniques and sample preparation, including miniaturization and automation. Publications accepted or published in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals in 2022 or 2023 are eligible for submission.
The Award
The Eberhard-Gerstel Award includes a certificate of recognition and the prize money. The awarded publication will be presented in a scientific lecture following the award ceremony at the analytica conference. The attendance costs are covered by the Separation Science Working Group.
Nomination/Application
Candidates can either self-nominate or be nominated by others. Application documents should include an informal statement about the significance of the work, the curriculum vitae of the author, and the publication itself. Submissions should be sent in PDF format via email to PD Dr. Katja Dettmer-Wilde (Katja.Dettmer@klinik.uni-regensburg.de), member of the Working Group and chair of the jury, by January 31, 2024.
