Agitator
The Agitator is a tempered orbital shaker for the MultiPurposeSampler MPS. Cooled, stirred or shaken.
The Motion 40 option allows a heated orbital shaker to be integrated as part of the automatic sample preparation process using the MultiPurposeSampler MPS. The orbital shaker can heat and shake up to 4 samples at the same time. The shaking step is a fixed component of a headspace or SPME run. You can also use the shaking step as part of the automated sample preparation process, however. The system is controlled using the MAESTRO software. Within the software itself, all preparation steps can be prepped ahead to save time.
Functional principle of the Motion 40 option
The MPS transports the samples into the Motion 40, where they are heated and shaken. Heating and shaking are performed in a time-controlled manner. The temperature and speed involved can be set individually. The Motion 40 option is configured for use with 40-mL vials.
Benefits
During automated sample preparation, up to 4 samples in 40-mL vials can be heated and shaken at the same time. Thanks to the MAESTRO software, controlling the system as a whole is simple and intuitive.
The Cooled Agitator is an orbital shaker for the MultiPurposeSampler MPS. It enables up to 6 samples to be tempered and shaken at the same time. As it is fitted with a cooling device, the Cooled Agitator also reaches temperatures below room temperature. The system is controlled using the MAESTRO software. Within the software itself, all preparation steps can be prepped ahead to save time. The shaking step is a fixed component of a headspace or SPME run. You can also use the shaking step as part of the automated sample preparation process, however.
Functional principle of the Cooled Agitator
The MPS transports the samples into the Cooled Agitator, where they are heated or cooled and shaken. Heating or cooling and shaking are performed in a time-controlled manner. The temperature and speed involved can be set individually. The Cooled Agitator is sealed using a cap. If necessary, the MPS can insert a needle through the openings in the cap and into the vial. The Cooled Agitator can be used with 2-mL, 4-mL, 10-mL and 20-mL vials.
Benefits
During automated sample preparation, up to 6 samples can be tempered and shaken at the same time, for purposes such as incubation or following the addition of reagents. The Cooled Agitator can also reach temperatures below room temperature. Thanks to the MAESTRO software, controlling the system as a whole is simple and intuitive.
The Agitator Stirrer is a heated orbital shaker for the MultiPurposeSampler MPS. It can either be used in shaking or stirring mode. It enables up to 6 samples to be heated and mixed at the same time. The system is controlled using the MAESTRO software. Within the software itself, all preparation steps can be prepped ahead to save time. The mixing step is a fixed component of a headspace or SPME run. You can also use the mixing step as part of the automated sample preparation process, however.

The temperature and speed involved can be set individually. The Agitator Stirrer is sealed using a cap. If necessary, the MPS can insert a needle through the openings in the cap and into the vial. In stirring mode, the Agitator Stirrer can be used with 20-mL vials, but in shaking mode, it can be used with 2-mL, 4-mL, 10-mL and 20-mL vials.
Benefits
During automated sample preparation, up to 6 samples can be heated and mixed at the same time, for purposes such as incubation or following the addition of reagents. In stirring mode, the Agitator Stirrer is especially suitable for operations involving sensitive SPME fibers. Thanks to the MAESTRO software, controlling the system as a whole is simple and intuitive.
