In the work presented here, the perfluorinated carbonic and sulfonic acids listed in the EU Drinking Water Directive (EU 2020/2184) were determined by an automated method based on solid phase extraction with weak anion exchange sorbent combined with LCMS/MS. Limits of quantification (LOQ) were determined from calibrations in the range of 0.2 – 2.0 ng/L according to DIN 32645. These are all below 1 ng/L, allowing the monitoring of 0.1 μg/L for the sum of 20 PFAS set as limit by the EU Drinking Water Directive. Method accuracy was demonstrated based on analysis of spiked water samples from different sources. Relative standard deviations were below 10% and trueness mainly between 80 and 110%. Quality date are presented. A round robin laboratory proficiency test for drinking water analysis was passed successfully using the presented method.
